International Agri-Business Center

DESCRIPTION

Volunteers provide a "personal touch" so critical to serving the international guest. Developing a professional staff of closely working volunteers can make a lasting impression on guests and members. The mission of the National Western International Agri-Business Center (NWIAC) is to encourage and foster international participation by providing a social and educational environment for trade development to occur.

LOCATION & CHECK-IN PROCEDURE

Check-in at the Volunteer Center located in the Expo Hall at the south end of the mezzanine, above the ticket office. Then proceed to the International Agri-Business Center located on the third floor, south end of the Expo Hall.

DUTIES

  1. Welcome International visitors to the NWSS.
  2. Register International guests.
  3. Provide all international visitors with an International Badge.
  4. Maintain registration forms and other printed materials.
  5. Maintain and update information board.
  6. Maintain beverage and food service in NWIAC.
  7. Keep Center clean and neat.
  8. Don’t impose but “glad hand” and don’t hesitate to talk with our international guests.
  9. Assist in setting up and breaking down the Center prior to the opening and at closing of the Stock Show.
  10. Maintain and update materials on display from the Ambassadors.
  11. Assist International guests in making international and local telephone calls.
  12. Assist visitors in using Internet and fax facilities in NWIAC.
  13. When asked by visitors, give tours of the NWSS grounds.
  14. Assist the NWIAC Coordinator at the Center seminars, receptions, luncheons, etc.
  15. Be informed as to the location of the information booths, first aid, cafeterias, rest rooms, etc.
  16. Stay updated on NWSS judging events, shows, rodeos and special events.
