Coors Western Art Exhibit & Sale Names Karmel Timmons Featured Artists

The 16th annual Coors Western Art Exhibit & Sale announces the featured artist for the 2008 exhibition, Karmel Timmons of Elbert, Colo. One of her original pieces will be purchased for the National Western Stock Show’s permanent collection and a collector’s poster of that piece will be for sale during the exhibit, which runs Jan. 12-27, 2008.

Considered one of the best western art exhibits in the nation, the Coors Western Art Exhibit & Sale opens with the Red Carpet Reception on Jan. 8, 2008, from 5:30-9 p.m. Tickets are $125 per person prior to Dec. 15, 2007, and $150 after Dec. 15. The reception includes a strolling western dinner, live music and a signed poster by the featured artist.

The Exhibit runs concurrent with the 2008 National Western Stock Show.

Located on the third floor of the National Western Expo Hall, the show presents more than 200 works from 50 artists known for the quality of their work and their portrayal of the West.

Featuring artwork in such mediums as oil, pastel, watercolor, pencil, etching, photography and bronze; and styles, ranging from traditional to contemporary, the Coors Western Art Exhibit & Sale strives to give viewers a diverse offering of images showcasing the many dimensions of western life.

Proceeds from the Coors Western Art Exhibit & Sale benefit the National Western Scholarship Trust, which awards scholarships to students studying agribusiness and rural family medicine at Colorado and Wyoming colleges.
