For additional information select a breed or class:

This horse is said to be the fastest breed of horse over a quarter of a mile, hence its name. Begun in colonial America, the Quarter Horse was bred both to work and race, and is now the invaluable cow horse that helped settle the West. Shown as a western pleasure horse, he is steady and ready to use his muscular body at a smooth jog all day. He can also become the finest cutting horse and working horse in the world. At the National Western Horse Show, you will see the Quarter Horse shown Jan. 5-7 at halter, in western performance and working divisions and as an English hunt-seat horse.

The annual Quarter Horse sale is nationally recognized for the presentation of top-quality animals. This year's Quarter Horse Sale will be held in conjunction with the Paint Horse Sale in the newly formed Mile High Select Quarter Horse and Paint Horse Sale, held Jan. 12th at 5:00 p.m in the Events Center.
