National Western partners with CSU Ag Adventure and a variety of organizations to create this interactive, educational and fun display.

In Ranchland, we answer questions like…

  • What agricultural commodities are grown or raised in Colorado?
  • Where does your food come from?
  • Why couldn't you live in your home, drive a car or go to a movie without the assistance of animals?

Our youngest visitors love the corn and bean boxes, while playing with John Deere tractors.

T-Bone, the talking steer, is one of our most visited displays.

Everyone can see inside a popular breakfast food while candling eggs.

Rocky Mountain Weavers and Spinners provides a quick correlation between sheep and wool clothing.

See the difference between the queen and worker bees.

Feed the Animals and FFA
Come feed the animals with FFA at 10:00 AM, 1:00 PM, 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM daily.  Animals include calves, goats and lambs that are bottle fed.  FFA students are available to answer your agricultural questions.

Poultry
We have a large variety of birds, from hatchling chicks to turkeys, geese, ducks, pheasants and quail.

Rabbits
Often raised for meat, fur and wool, at National Western they are also purchased as pets. There are 41 breeds of rabbits in the United States.

We must stress the importance of washing hands after petting the animals.  The restrooms are conveniently located next to the Feed the Animals exhibit.
