Monday, January 9, 2012 - Optional Tour
JBS USA and JBS Five Rivers Cattle Feeding LLC JBS USA is the largest beef processor in the world. The Greeley, CO plant tour will include an orientation on what will be seen inside the cooler and how the carcasses are arranged on the rail, specifics on grading and quality, and differences between quality grades - USDA Select, Choice and Prime. The second stop of the tour will be in Kersey, CO at the Kuner feedyard of JBS Five Rivers Cattle Feeding LLC. Five Rivers has a combined feeding capacity of 839,000 head of cattle in eight domestic locations. The tour will include an overview of a large state of the art, modern day feedyard. Learn how Five Rivers works closely with beef processing companies, conducts industry-focused nutrition and production research, and how they systematically improve their operations to meet their customer’s needs.

Group transportation departs the Renaissance Denver Hotel at 8:00 am and returns at 4:00 pm. Lunch included.
